Candidate for President

Candidate Bio:
Hi! My name is Ozioma Ozigbo, but I go by Ozi. I am currently studying mechanical and energy engineering at UNT. I’ve been a part of SWE for over 2 years now. When I walked into my first SWE meeting, the sense of community was beautiful to witness. It felt like home to be amongst people with similar passions and ideas. I knew this was a community I wanted to be part of in the long run. I hope to work as an energy engineer after graduation; ensuring everyone regardless of class or social status has access to reliable, safe and sustainable energy. I am also an Engineering Ambassador for the college of Engineering at UNT. So, do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions. In my free time, I enjoy reading, going out with friends, writing, dancing, singing and acting. Sometime in the future, I would love to start a blog and podcast.

Candidates for Head of Public Relations

Candidate Bio:
Hi everyone! My name is Cayla Vu, and I am a freshman studying mechanical and energy engineering. I recently moved to Texas this year from Philadelphia, and I am loving every bit of this place. Some fun facts about me are that I have an Instagram account for my dog, I enjoy playing online games, talking to friends, biking, and exploring new food places occasionally. I also find pleasure playing the flute and piano.
I developed an interest for engineering in high school where I took a few engineering classes and was involved in a women in engineering club. One of the reasons why I chose to be in this field is because I want to inspire young females to break into the STEM/STEAM field and increase their interest and confidence in being in a male-dominating field. I want to become more involved in SWE next year as I go through my educational journey. I really enjoyed attending SWE virtual meetings this year, and I cannot wait to meet everyone in person when the time comes!
